

Renata Egreja was born in the city of São Paulo in 1984.
As a child, the artist grew up amid agricultural plantations in the Center-West of São Paulo. From the age of 14, she moved to Sao Paulo city to finish high school, going on to begin studying visual arts at the Armando Alvarez Penteado Foundation. In 2007 she moved to Paris, where she finished her graduation studies. After graduating, she completed a master’s degree at Ecole des Beaux Arts, ENSBA.
Egreja works with different artistic genres, such as sculpture and installation. But the great axis of her work is painting. She has won some awards such as the Itamaraty Contemporary Art Award and FAAP Artistic Residency, Itamaraty Sanskriti Faudation and Trajetórias Artísticas of the Government of São Paulo state Award.
She has also participated in the exhibitions Os Primeiros Dez Anos and Correspondências at Instituto Tomie Othake, new acquisitions MAC Sorocaba, Elas at FAAP, among others.
She has held solo exhibitions in two galleries in São Paulo: Zipper Galeria and Galeria Lume.
Also, she has had her arts exhibited at Curitiba Art Museum, MAG Goiânia and more recently at Pinacoteca Fórum das Artes in Botucatu.
Her art is part of collections such as Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado, MAC Sorocaba and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Itamaraty.
Interestingly, she currently lives in the countryside with her husband and two little amazing daughters at the same farm where she spent most of her childhood, in Ipaussu.
